News indicates Smriti Irani — who made it big as Tulsi Virani and went on to have a successful political life later on — is finally returning to acting. Her return to television has been reported as being under high Z+ security, therefore assuring the fact that shooting is in full effect and her long-awaited comeback is no longer a hearsay.

Although news of the revival has been kept under wraps, fan expectations reached a fever pitch following viral clips of Smriti and Amar outside Ekta Kapoor's residence. Smriti, dressed in a classic salwar suit, smiled warmly at the paparazzi, while Amar looked dashing in a stylish white-and-beige outfit, posing with his trademark charm. The images immediately created nostalgic frenzy, hinting that something big is coming from Balaji Telefilms.

Insiders have verified that production for the upcoming season has already started. Although this reboot is said to be scripted as a limited series that will run for around 150 episodes, the creative direction is grand. The aim? To set the stage for potentially reaching the 2000-episode mark again, mirroring the show's original huge run.

First on air from 2000 to 2008, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi emerged as a pioneering force in Indian television, transforming the prime-time format and becoming a staple in every home across the nation. Developed by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor, the show made its mark on pop culture and built a legacy that's difficult to surpass.

Smriti Irani’s involvement makes the revival even more significant. Since joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2003, she has served in numerous high-ranking government positions. Her notable roles include Union Minister for Human Resource Development (2014–2016), Minister of Textiles (2016–2021), and Minister of Information and Broadcasting (2017–2018). Since 2019, she has been the Union Minister for Women and Child Development.

The very real possibility of watching Tulsi and Mihir reunite has gotten the fans excited all over again — and there's news that some other well-known actors might pop up in quick cameos too. There are whispers of stars like Mouni Roy and Karishma Tanna joining the reboot in special cameo appearances. A big promo video that includes a number of the regulars from the original show is also on the cards, according to reports.
